Turunc is the last bay accessible buy road from Marmaris. Journey times are about 30 minutes car journey from Marmaris and 15 minutes car journey from Icmeler.

The road from Icmeler first has to climb steeply over the headland and then ziz zag even more steeply down in to the smaller bay in which Turunc is located. However, the journey is worth it as the views are spectacular. For those who do not like heights there is a boat ride that connects the various bays and the journey to Marmaris takes about 45 minutes.

The small curving beach is lined with low rise buildings, restaurants, hotels and guest houses. There is an easy going air about the place. No where in this exclusive little community is more than 5 minutes walk from the beach.

The hills behind Turunc are steep and beautiful and they clearly define the size of the town and the amount of land available for building. The final blocks of building land have just been released (2005) and construction on them will be complete by 2007. Not surprisingly they are being allocated to more ‘upmarket’ luxury villas and apartments.
