Icmeler was part of Marmaris but is now considered to be a community in its own right. Located in the next bay to Marmaris, Icmeler is smaller and quieter. It lacks the commercial life of Marmaris and depends mainly on the tourist trade for its economy. Icmeler is connected to Marmaris by a ten minute car road journey or a slightly longer boat ride.
The curving beach is protected from traffic by narrow streets and pedestrians areas filled with shops and restaurants. There are plenty of hotels and apartments available for rent.
Most of the land available for building has already been released and therefore real estate in Icmeler is dominated by resale's as opposed to new build Turkish property. This fact is underpinning the market and in the long term will probably lead to consistent house price rises.
