Area Information: Kalamata

Olive Grove House and Apartment are situated on the edge of the small rural village of Kalianeika half way between Kalamata and Stoupa in the Messinia region of the Peloponnese. It is 3km up the hill from the pretty harbour of Kitries and 5km from the gently sloping shingle beach of Santava. Kalamata is 17km away and has a colourful, bustling sea front which runs for 4km from the port, past countless tavernas and hotels to the Filoxenia Hotel. The popular, sandy beaches of Stoupa and Kalogria are 20km away , after passing through the picturesque town of Kardamili with its traditional Mani tower houses in the old town.

The closest airport is Kalamata, and there are direct flights from various airports in the UK and Scandinavia between early May to late October.



by car it is about 4 hours from Athens airport to our house and apartment after flying into Athens from anywhere in the world.



There is also an excellent bus/coach service from central Athens to Kalamata

There are various routes across Europe to bring you down to the Italian ports of Venice, Ancona, Brindisi and Bari, all of which have ferry connections to Patras in the Peloponnese. From there we are about a 3 hour drive away
