The north east coast of Calabria is perhaps the most unknown part of Calabria for most Europeans. The area has a lot to offer with great beaches, easy access to the mountains of La Sila and Pollino National Parks, great food, and friendly and welcoming local people. However Crotone airport is expected to start taking international flights in 2009 or 2010 and Crotone the Airport is only 30 to 45 minutes to the south of where most new property development is taking place.

There are also plans for a brand new international Airport at Sibari. This project has got the go ahead and many people expect it to be ready within three to five years. This will open up the entire north east coast of Calabria and radically increased demand from overseas property buyers.
